Brows
All brows grow at different rates, wait at least 2 to 4 months before coming in to achieve the best results.
Yes. Although you received a consultation elsewhere, we create your specialized brow plan based on the Eye Love Method.
At Eye Love all of our brow artists are experienced professionals who follow the same methodology. We strive for consistency, however, brow shaping is an art so we recommend continuing your appointments with the same artist you began your journey with.
The skin around your eye area is thin and delicate so you want to treat that region with care. Waxing and threading can be extremely harsh and strip the top layer of skin. Tweezing is gentle and allows our aestheticians to be detailed and meticulous with shaping. You can also achieve a more natural finish with tweezing.
The Eye Love Method begins at your first consultation, where you will meet a trusted brow artist who will discuss your brow history and decide on a growth plan. Feeling comfortable and connected to your brow artist is crucial at Eye Love, as they will be the main support on your brow rehabilitation journey. After mapping out your brow shape, Eye Love will educate and guide you on what techniques are required to achieve your brow goals. By the end of your first consultation, you will have all the tools and confidence needed to start the process and fall back in love with your brows!
Lash Lifts
It is different for everyone. If you have dense and heavy lashes the lifts tend to last about 6 weeks. If your lashes are thin and sparse the lash lift can last 2-3 months.
To avoid damage to your lashes we recommend waiting 2-3 months between lash lifts.
We do our best to get the best curl possible, that means if we have to re-lift them a second time we will. We do not offer refunds.
Yes, we can usually do both the services on the same day.
Brow and Lash Tints
We use a gel dye with a henna effect. The highly pigmented dye tints hairs and skin, providing a graphic and intense result that lasts up to 7 days on your skin and up to 7 weeks on hairs. The ammonia-free formula guarantees a gentle effect on hair structure.
Lash tints usually last 4-7 weeks depending on the texture of your lashes.
No. Since tinting does not penetrate the cuticle and only coats the hairs, it cannot damage your lashes or brows.
Micro strokes
Microstrokes also referred to as semi-permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing, microblading and eyebrow embroidery, is the process of implanting colour pigment beneath the surface of the skin using tiny, sterile, disposable needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes, makeup, or to enhance the natural features of the face.
Body tattoos use ink while cosmetic tattoo procedures involve pigments. These pigments are designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the artist to make changes to colour and shape as your natural colouration and facial changes occur.
A highly-effective, topical anesthetic cream and gel are used for numbing before and during your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure.
Please be advised that during your menstrual cycle you may have more discomfort during your procedure. If you are a frequent smoker, the topical anesthetics used during the treatment will not last as long. Also, if you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, please be aware that your condition may affect your tolerance to the procedure.
Microstrokes treatments are considered semi-permanent and will not wash off, however, they will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every 1-2 years. We will re-evaluate how your skin has retained the pigment during your second session and make any changes necessary. Multiple sessions are normal for microstrokes procedures, requiring a minimum of 2 visits. Your second session can be booked 2 months after the initial appointment.
For most clients, a minimum of two treatments are usually needed. With most procedures, the colour looks dramatically lighter after the first week. Some clients prefer this, while others opt for a bolder look. During the second session, we will assess the colour retention and make adjustments as necessary. We can always go darker and add more density at your next appointment.
Sun exposure will extremely soften the look of your microstrokes, so sunblock should be used (once healed) to extend your enhancement.
The regeneration of your skin cells will affect how long the pigment holds.
Skintype. The speed at which the skin absorbs the pigment affects the results. The slower the absorption, the longer the pigment will hold.
Some colours fade quicker than others, e.g. a blonde colour will fade quicker than a dark brown colour.
Bleeding during the procedure will reduce the amount of pigment absorption.
We require our clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours before their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen.
Do not drink any alcohol the night before or on the day of your appointment.
Limit the amount of caffeine you consume.
If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure.
If you use any type of retin A or hyaluronic acid please do not use it around the brow area before/after the procedure.
It is highly recommended that you avoid sun and tanning bed exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure, so plan your vacations accordingly.
*Please note, that if you arrive for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit.
If you use botox or any injectables please wait 4-8 weeks before having your procedure done.
Your semi-permanent makeup will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days. This will gradually lighten during the healing process. Redness and swelling should be minimal. Please view our detailed aftercare instructions here.
Over time, your eyebrows will eventually look softer and have more of a "powdered" look. This happens with all clients as the skin ages. To keep your hair strokes looking good, a refresher appointment is suggested every 1 to 2 years. Results vary with each client.
If you have extremely oily skin, the constant production of oil will cause the hair strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look, and your end result will look more powdered than you would expect.
If you have little to no existing hair, your treatment will appear more 2-dimensional than those clients who have more hair naturally.
If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment may fade more quickly.
If you are iron deficient or anemic, your pigment may fade more quickly and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure.
Yes. You must be 18 years or older to receive this service.
No. As a precaution, we do not perform microstrokes treatments on pregnant or nursing women.
